Summary & Registration Information

This six-day Intermediate I/II training module is the 3rd of 6 modules constituting the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training.


Intermediate I/II Course Objectives:

  1. Identify the hallmarks and common symptoms of a nervous system displaying Global High Intensity Activation (GHIA). 
  2. Identify the key defensive impulses, symptoms and typical coping mechanisms of pre-and peri-natal trauma.
  3. Demonstrate understanding of and skills in working with anesthesia trauma.
  4. Demonstrate understanding of and skills in working with suffocation, choking, and drowning. 
  5. Demonstrate understanding of, and skills in working with, High Impact Accidents/Failure of Physical Defense (motor vehicle accidents, falls, etc).
  6. Demonstrate understanding of, and skills in working with inescapable attack (animal attack, rape, sexual abuse, escape inhibited).
  7. Demonstrate understanding of, and skills in working with, High Impact Accidents/Failure of Physical Defense (motor vehicle accidents, falls, etc).
  8. Demonstrate understanding of, and skills in working with, rape and sexual abuse.  
  9. Demonstrate understanding of, and skills in working with, physical injury including: surgery, poisoning, and burns.
  10. Identify ways to help prepare children and adults for surgery to minimize trauma.

PLEASE NOTE:


Students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the first four modules (Beginning and Intermediate-levels) at the same training location to support a strong and cohesive group learning environment. If you are unable to attend one of your local training modules, you may request to take a module in an alternate location (if space is available).
