The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Stevanovich Center, University of Chicago will hold a one-day workshop on Friday, December 16, 2016. This workshop will bring together economists and historians with a keen interest in the study of banking and financial crises. The purpose of the conference is to take advantage of historical analysis to provide insights into questions of current interest to economists and regulators. The focus will be on papers which use historical data to shed light on issues such as: the impact of banking regulation, macro-financial linkages, systemic risk analysis, networks and propagation mechanisms and macro-prudential analysis.
