This class is designed to give the learner the tools to interpret unfamiliar terms and decipher their meaning in order to understand basic medical terminology. Participants will learn to identify prefixes, root words, and suffixes. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is valuable in helping to speak and understand the same language about what we do for our patients.
Resources/information for further self-development to do “on-your-own” after class will also be provided, including common medical abbreviations.
Target Audience: Patient Care Assistants, Multi Care Techs (MCTs), Medical Office Assistants, Clerks, Techs, other Hospital or Physician Office Support Staff and anyone interested in this topic.
