This training is going to be held ONLINE through Zoom. All necessary Zoom information will be emailed to students prior to the start of the training. The dates and agenda of this training may shift to better accommodate online learning. Any changes will be reflected on the Event Summary as well as through email to all registered students. If students cannot make the training due to the changes, we will waive transfer fees or offer full refunds. Email registration@traumahealing.org with questions.

  

Online Student Informed Consent 

If your training is online through Zoom, you are required to sign the MANDATORY Online Student Informed Consent in order to attend. In an effort to ensure every student remains safe and healthy during the online trainings, this also includes a space for you to list an emergency contact. If a student becomes activated and the Coordinators cannot contact them via phone or email, they will contact a family member or friend to check in.

 

We are offering COVID-19 Financial Aid option for those experiencing financial hardship during this time. If approved, students will receive a 33% discount applicable to all their upcoming 2020 trainings. The COVID-19 Financial Aid is intended to support current SE Students that have experienced significant financial hardship within the last 60 days due to COVID-19. Students must use these funds towards a training in 2020. Current scholarship students are not eligible for this financial aid offering.

Summary & Registration Information

Thank you for your interest in the SE Professional Training.

This four-day Beginning I training module is the first of eight modules constituting the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training and is open to those enrolling for the full Somatic Experiencing Practitioner certificate program. If you are unsure about applying for the full Somatic Experiencing Professional Training, we invite you to first attend one of our introductory workshops to help you determine if the full training program is for you.

Beginning I Course Objectives:

  1. Describe the physiological basis of trauma and identify how maladaptive physiological responses to threat, and their lack of resolution, may contribute to the formation of PTSD symptoms.
  2. Track sensory and sensory-motor experience in clients and convert other elements of experience into sensory and sensory-motor experience.
  3. Demonstrate working through disorganized sensory and sensory-motor experience using the concepts of orientation, stabilization, containment, resourcing, titration, pendulation, and self-regulation to discharge un-discharged arousal in order to help organism return to homeostasis.
  4. Identify adaptive and maladaptive physiology of activation and deactivation in animals and human beings exposed to threat and its aftermath, such as incomplete orienting and defensive responses of fight, flight, and freeze.
  5. Demonstrate working with language that supports the tracking of sensation.

All prospective students for the 3 Year Professional Training Program must FIRST complete the Professional Training Application.

PLEASE NOTE:

Students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the first six modules (Beginning and Intermediate-levels) at the same training location to support a strong and cohesive group learning environment. If you are unable to attend one of your local training modules, please contact admissions@traumahealing.org to discuss your options.
