This training is going to be held ONLINE through Zoom. All necessary Zoom information will be emailed to students prior to the start of the training. The dates and agenda of this training may shift to better accommodate online learning. Any changes will be reflected on the Event Summary as well as through email to all registered students. Summary & Registration Information

This four-day Beginning II training module is the 2nd of 8 modules constituting the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training.

Beginning II Course Objectives:

Identify the function of the threat response cycle including: the preparatory and defensive orienting responses; the startle response, the protective/defensive survival responses, and the exploratory orienting response.
Identify the function of the Autonomic nervous system (SNS) in the threat response, including the sympathetic and the parasympathetic branches.
Identify symptoms of, evaluate, and restore ruptured boundaries.
Demonstrate proficiency at tracking skills, titration of client's arousal levels, and establishing continuity through the felt sense.
Demonstrate the ability to empower clients to establish, complete and discharge defensive orienting responses, and fight, flight and freeze protective survival responses.

PLEASE NOTE:

Students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the first six modules (Beginning and Intermediate-levels) at the same training location to support a strong and cohesive group learning environment. If you are unable to attend one of your local training modules, you may request to take a module in an alternate location (if space is available) or to make up one of your Beginning or Intermediate modules by DVD.
