This training is going to be held ONLINE through Zoom. All necessary Zoom information will be emailed to students prior to the start of the training. The dates and agenda of this training may shift to better accommodate online learning. Any changes will be reflected on the Event Summary as well as through email to all registered students. Summary & Registration Information

This four-day Beginning III training module is the 3rd of 8 modules constituting the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training.

Beginning III Course Objectives:

Develop skills in working with, the elements of internal experience as presented in SIBAM model: Sensation, Image, Behavior, Affect and Meaning.
Develop skills in working with coupling dynamics (under- and over-coupling). Begin to understand how coupling dynamics can relate to the elements of SIBAM.
Distinguish between joining and merging with client experience. Identify the signs of merging and demonstrate the establishment of healthy joining/attunement with client.
Identify different types of touch common in Somatic Experiencing® sessions.
Identify the re-regulation of the ANS by restoring gentle cycles of sympathetic and parasympathetic interplay.
Analyze and assess a client’s tolerance of their bodily sensations; begin to uncouple the fear response to the traumatic event.

PLEASE NOTE:

Students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the first six modules (Beginning and Intermediate-levels) at the same training location to support a strong and cohesive group learning environment. If you are unable to attend one of your local training modules, you may request to take a module in an alternate location (if space is available) or to make up one of your Beginning or Intermediate modules by DVD. No continuing education credit is offered for the DVDs or recordings of ANY modules in the three-year training program. You may make up one of your Beginning or Intermediate modules by DVD for SEI requirements, but no continuing education credit will be awarded.
