Rochester Behavioral Health Integration
4th Annual Symposium
Friday, October 25, 2019
Hilton Garden Inn – College Town

Program Overview

The escalating costs for the healthcare of adults with behavioral disorders are unsustainable.  In response to rising expenditures, health care systems and insurers are now being incentivized to develop new innovative approaches to the delivery and financing of care.  These approaches include development of new behavioral health care models in which reimbursement will increasingly be based on the quality and outcomes of care delivered.  The focus of this year’s 4th Rochester Behavioral Health Integration Symposium will be on the economic aspects of integrating BH into medical care and the opportunities as well as challenges that this presents. In addition, we will be highlighting the importance of care management as well as the impact of social and behavioral determinants on the overall health of individuals that we serve.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1.  Identify the cost implications of a siloed health care system and the cost saving opportunities of integrating behavioral health into medical care.

2.  Describe the role of care managers in enhancing the care of patients and improving outcomes.

3.  Recognize the impact of social determinants on the overall health of patients.
