NO SESSION THANKSGIVING WEEK.
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make handmade ceramic ware? Come join us at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh for a hands-on class that will introduce you to the fundamentals of making beautiful pieces for your home or to give as gifts. At the beginning of this five-session workshop, the basic techniques of making ceramic wares will be introduced, and then you can explore your favorite method to complete your creativity. You will gradually develop your own style, and that is the pleasure of making artwork. As you progress through this course, you’ll design a unique piece, throwing it on a potter’s wheel, shaping, glazing and firing your artistic vision to completion.
This is a perfect course for friends or family to take together in an inspiring environment conducive to your artistic education and enjoyment.
All clay, glazes, tools and apron are included in the course. Please bring a notepad and pencil to jot down ideas and sketches. Due to the nature of the course please consider wearing old clothes and shoes. You may get a little dirty. If additional studio time is needed, times may be provided by the instructor based on studio availability.
This course is suitable for ages 14+
