David Ripple joined The Remington Group as president in January 2016 after serving as vice president for development at The Ohio State University in Columbus. In his current role, David relies upon his nearly 23-years of experience as a frontline fund raiser, campaign architect and strategist with deep knowledge of advancement services to counsel non-profit organizations in the broad areas of advancement and development. His current and former clients include Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, Michigan Opera Theatre, Coalition of Temporary Shelter (COTS), Bowling Green State University and Concordia University Ann Arbor.
During his tenure at Ohio State, David’s responsibilities included oversight of the more than 200 central fundraising staff during the successful $3 billion But for Ohio State campaign. He partnered with the university’s academic leaders, their development teams and key volunteer leaders to increase support for the university. During fiscal year 2015, David helped lead Ohio State to one of its most successful years in fundraising, raising more than $405 million in private support.
He previously worked at Wayne State University for eight years, rising from associate vice president for development to vice president for development and alumni affairs and president of the Wayne State Foundation. During his tenure, David led, supervised and motivated a staff of 110 professionals in development, principal gifts, alumni affairs, development communications, advancement services and the WSU Foundation. He re-tooled and re-organized the fund raising operation to be in line with the needs of a comprehensive research university and implemented best practice metrics for all parts of the development operation and measured results monthly with strategic key performance dashboards. David also led the successful conclusion WSU’s $500 million Wayne First comprehensive campaign, and planned and organized the launch of the University’s current $750 million Pivotal Moments campaign.
Prior to Wayne State, David served as an executive director with CCS Fundraising providing fundraising management and counsel to non-profit clients throughout southeast Michigan including Michigan Opera Theatre, Lutheran Social Services of Michigan and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System to name a few. Earlier in his career, David served on the fundraising staffs of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, the American Red Cross in Detroit and Angela Hospice in Livonia.
