COVID-19 - Due to recent travel bans and guidance from health authorities, the school is now cancelled. Please keep an eye on this page for details on rearrangement.

Should you wish to attend the school in 2021, please add your name to the wait list below.

This School is being hosted for the fifth time and is a joint initiative of Wings for Life and the International Spinal Research Trust (Spinal Research). The aim is to review the neurobiology of neurological injury, with a particular focus on spinal cord injury.

Acute neurological injury can lead to dramatic and irreversible consequences for individuals, and it is a cause of lifelong disability worldwide. It has a major impact not only on patients, but also on families and carers, and represents a significant burden in terms of health costs.
Clinical and basic science lectures, as well as workshops from distinguished specialists in the field will discuss merits and limitations of existing models of injury used in research. We will also present an overview of the key clinical issues in this field, and of promising translational research avenues.
“During the course I learnt about SCI from all perspectives: clinicians, physicians, surgeons, researchers from other disciplines, etc.. The most valuable part of the course for me was networking and getting to pick the brains of the faculty during breaks, meals and downtime.
