This inspirational presentation will focus on the psycho-social societal trends that challenge well-intended visions and dreams for diversity and inclusion. It will also provide attendees with knowledge to recognize, avoid and manage (RAM) their prowling syndrome. This will equip attendees to emerge as relevant leaders in the new journey to advance diversity and inclusion.
About the Presenter:
Glenn McIntosh, Vice President for Student Affairs, Oakland University
Glenn McIntosh is highly regarded as a senior-level higher education administrator, inspirational and instructional speaker, and human performance expert. A published author, his book “It’s Time to Bring Your ‘A’ Game” teaches people how to break ineffective mental and behavioral habits so they can achieve peak performance in every area of their life.
In May 2015, Glenn was appointed as Vice President for Student Affairs at Oakland University (Rochester, MI). Prior to this anointment, he served as a Dean of Students. He was the founding director of the Center for Multicultural Initiatives on Oakland’s campus. He also created the national and regional awarding-winning Oakland University Trustee Academic Success Scholarship Program. The program consistently yields one of the highest underrepresented minority student graduation rates in the country. Additional, he provided leadership for the establishment of the Gender and Sexuality Center.
Glenn is very active in many professional and community-based organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland and Macomb Counties, DAPCEP, Renaissance Unity Ministerial Team, Success Mile Academy, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He has been the recipient of numerous accolades including the Novell-Levitz Student Retention Excellence Award, Administrative-Professional of the Year Award, Omega Man of the Year Award, and Diversity Excellence Award, Administrative-Professional of the Year Award, and the Michigan Chronicle’s Men of Excellence Award. An avid bodybuilder, he has won many bodybuilding contests including Mr. Ironman and Mr. Michigan.
