Coaching Skills for Managers

November 3 & 4, 2016
9:30 am - 4:30 pm

MORE, BETTER, FASTER!! This is the mandate many leaders face today.  You can’t do it all yourself, but how can you most quickly build the leadership, innovation, and autonomy of your team?  Using a coaching approach will develop your team’s muscles around taking responsibility, thinking creatively, and being resourceful, and they will gain confidence in their abilities to achieve.  In turn, you will have a happier, more engaged, and enthusiastic team, AND there will be time for you to take on more interesting and higher-level tasks or projects!  It’s a win/win.

You will start practicing coaching methods right away in this immersion program and will be challenged to play a very different role from what you are accustomed to and comfortable with.  During this training, you will examine your own communications practices and listening skills, your openness to entrusting others, and your ability to create an environment of coaching and learning.

Topics to be covered:

  • Coaching Methodology Defined
  • Trust
  • Communications
  • Mindfulness & Coaching Presence
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Coaching a Team

Managers learn to:
  • Develop trust with employees so people want to collaborate with them.
  • Identify what motivates their direct reports and align personal with organizational goals.
  • Prepare to conduct effective conversations about employees' development needs.
  • Provide feedback effectively.
  • Appraise opportunities to provide feedback, identifying "coaching moments".
  • Create a learning environment for employees to grow and develop.

Who Should Attend:

This immersion program is designed for managers and supervisors with at least 3 years of experience leading people, as well as those who are veteran leaders.  We encourage you to bring more people from your organization to support one-another’s learning and help ensure that coaching methods will be incorporated into the organization.

Registration Fees: $395

Breakfast and an afternoon snack each day are included in the registration fee (lunch is not included).
