Description: Medical coding, billing, and reimbursement are among the most confusing aspects of the US healthcare industry, but they’re critical to the sustained health of your practice. With a solid understanding of these skills, you can help more patients, take a lot of paperwork off your plate, and avoid leaving revenues on the table. This workshop will be led by Debbie Abel, AuD., AudigyCare’s Manager of Contracting Services, who has extensive experience with coding and billing issues through intense committee work at the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). In this workshop, she’ll give you an overview of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes. The course will cover Medicare enrollment, requirements, and the Physician Quality Reporting System. You’ll learn the general principles of coding and what needs to be included in a patient’s chart and chart notes. Other topics include a discussion on the basics, advantages, and disadvantages of contracting with a billing and coding service; how to fill out a CMS 1500 claim; and federal regulations that impact the practice of audiology.
