Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, present focused, evidenced-based therapy. It is one of the most studied treatments with very positive research outcomes. CBT is a core component of the recommended treatments for trauma-focused therapy.
In this two-day workshop, key features of CBT will be explained and demonstrated so that you gain an excellent foundation in CBT and are able to apply CBT techniques in your clinical work. Behavioral and cognitive interventions will be described including behavioral activation, cognitive restructuring and exposure. Common obstacles and challenges when applying these interventions will also be discussed. Practical, step-by-step guidelines on implementing CBT strategies will be demonstrated through examples, role-plays and videos. You will learn key CBT interventions and the application of these in the treatment for post traumatic stress, depression and anxiety.
