This MED-EL Workshop, “Collaborative Approach to MED-EL Hearing Implants: A Comprehensive Training for Audiologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Educators and Early Intervention Professionals,” includes content that is intended to provide a firm foundation for clinicians and educators with limited exposure to MED-EL cochlear implants as well as subject matter aimed to engage our more experienced colleagues.
This complimentary workshop will offer two unique learning tracks; one specifically for audiologists and the other for (re)habilitation professionals. All attendees will collaboratively learn about MED-EL’s most current technology, the SYNCHRONY cochlear implant system. Interactive and small group breakouts will be provided for all attendees, in order to identify key features and functions of the implant system, comfortably assemble and disassemble MED-EL’s audio processors, and easily troubleshoot the devices. The workshop will conclude with all attendees discussing case studies, regarding patients’ audiological, therapeutic, and educational needs.
In addition to the combined learning sessions, the course is divided into two tracks:
Audiology track topics
(Re)habilitation track topics
Prior to the workshop, an MED-EL introduction and dinner event will be held. During this time, all participants will meet the Southeast Regional MED-EL representatives and learn about MED-EL’s company history and core values. Various learning stations will be set-up during this time, including an opportunity to use the Transparent Electrode Demonstration model (TED) to practice inserting a real MED-EL cochlear implant array!
For a detailed list of the Learner Objectives, select the “Agenda tab” on the top of the course registration webpage.
If you are able to attend, please complete the registration form using the registration tab above or below. Space is limited to the first 30 Audiologist and the first 30 (Re)habilitation specialists that register. You will choose your "track" during the registration process, depending on if you are an Audiologist or (Re)habilitation specialist.
