Summary

Colorado and Mountain Plains NAHRO proudly present the 2018 Annual Conference, Making a Difference Together, at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort Hotel in Vail. The Maintenance Conference takes place Monday-Tuesday, May 14-15 and the Management Conference takes place Wednesday-Friday, May 16-18.


This year’s conference offers an excellent opportunity to receive essential and timely training, establish new partnerships, and network with your colleagues at a world class location. There is no higher calling than working to make a difference in people’s lives. Our conference theme suggests that we can do this most effectively by working together. 


A new feature of this year's Management Conference is a full-day Leadership Summit for new and veteran Executive Directors and Deputy Directors on Wednesday, May 16th. Additionally, Adrianne Todman, national NAHRO’s new CEO and Cris White, CHFA CEO, will be attending to share important information about the state of our industry and what we need to do to remain vibrant and relevant. We are also happy to be offering a new track on homelessness.


Colorado is happy to once again combine efforts with the Mountain Plains NAHRO Regional Conference which means that members from the six state region will be attending (Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming). This is a great opportunity to meet and learn from your colleagues throughout the region.

About the Maintenance Conference, May 14-15
The Maintenance Conference is designed to provide a combination of hands-on training along with some practical program and customer service instruction for maintenance directors and maintenance staff involved in affordable housing maintenance and rehab. The conference features two full days of workshops featuring 15 in-depth sessions and includes two breakfasts, two lunches and the vendor reception on Monday evening, May 14.

About the Management Conference, May 16-18
The conference planning committee has organized 42 breakout sessions in a variety of areas including Housing Choice Vouchers, Housing Management, Homelessness, Public Housing, Project Based Section 8 Contracts, Community Development, Professional Development, Rehab, Resident Services, Finance, Commissioners and Housing Development. Conference registration includes three breakfasts, two lunches, the sponsor reception with food and drinks, and the banquet.
 
Executive Directors, commissioners, management staff and line staff will all benefit from inspiring sessions, timely workshops, excellent networking opportunities and fun-filled events. Read on for complete details.

Mountain Plains NAHRO Leadership Summit
Wednesday, May 16, 10:00am – 5:00pm
This exciting new leadership training program is designed specifically for new and veteran housing authority Executive and Deputy Executive Directors. You’ll come away prepared to:

  • Lead, inspire, and engage your teams in an era when housing
    programs are under attack
  • Unlock the potential of your staff in order to optimize high
    performance and community impact, and
  • Tackle compliance and risk management challenges common
    to housing authorities.

The full-day assembly will also include:

  • Question and answer session with a panel of veteran directors
  • Networking luncheon
  • Advocacy and community outreach training

There is no longer a mail in registration form. All registrations must be done online. Friday, April 8 is the early registration deadline. All registrations after that date will be processed at the late registration rate. We are offering a single day only rate for both the Maintenance and Management Conferences and a one-day rate including banquet at the Management Conference. We are also continuing to offer the special rate for commissioners. Company checks or credit card payments are accepted.

The Vail Marriott Mountain Resort Hotel is the site for all conference sessions.
