This course is designed to introduce the principles of case management and mental health rehab services to new Pacific Clinics employees as well as those who need further instruction on these topics. We will focus on the skills needed to establish a successful working relationship with consumers. We will discuss the recovery principles which guide our work with consumers as well as topics such as confidentiality and boundaries, assessing consumer’s strengths, establishing rapport, and communication skills needed to work with consumers with mental health challenges. We will explore the interventions that Case Managers/ Mental Health Workers can use with consumers to help them reach their treatment goals.
