Course outline: Creative use of multimedia and devices in the classroom - 25th and 26th of March

Summary

A two-day workshop is offered to selected eTwinning teachers on how to creatively use multimedia and devices in the classroom. The course will be held in the new European Schoolnet Future Classroom Lab in Brussels http://fcl.eun.org . This is a fully equipped, reconfigurable teaching and learning space which has been developed by European Schoolnet, its 30 supporting Ministries of Education and leading ICT companies.

This two-day course is designed to help teachers become proficient in exploring how different media can be used in education.

You will be shown every step of the way from planning, creating, enhancing and sharing multimedia projects. The primary goal of this workshop is to provide opportunities for you to develop the skills required in order to make innovative use of digital text, audio, images and video in your the classroom.

The course will be led by Kurt Klynen, a senior educational trainer, specialising in multi-media. Kurt is also an Apple educator.

Workshop Content and Objectives

You need to have basic ICT skills (ie. proficient day to day user of computers), but you don’t have to be an experienced multimedia user to take this course. It will provide step-by-step guidance.

All participants will learn:

To experiment, share and implement digital text in teaching and learning;
To experiment, share and implement video in teaching and learning;
To experiment, share and implement stop motion in teaching and learning;
To experiment, share and implement audio in teaching and learning;
To experiment, share and implement images in teaching and learning;
To mix media in a multimedia project;
To rethink their own teaching practice by developing new pedagogical scenarios to practice in the Lab before taking back to school.

It would be helpful to bring your own device, but this is not essential. You will have plenty of opportunities to experiment with different devices in the Future Classroom Lab.
