There are many factors that determine an organization’s success. One indisputable and necessary component is vision. A compelling vision has the power to capture the imaginations of millions of men and women. It inspires, clarifies and focuses the work of individuals – and preferably entire organizations – for a lengthy span of time. Part of that vision, determined by the Board of Directors and Association leadership, is for CSA and member utilities to  focus significant effort and attention on maximizing member effectiveness. 

Achieving success requires constant learning for everyone in an organization, and that learning needs to be part of the organizational culture. Not only should staff members be learning from others in the organization, but they should also be encouraged to take courses, to attend organization-sponsored training and workshops, to continually learn more about their work and to get new ideas and perspectives on it. CSA's Annual User Education Conference is designed to impart important industry information and systems knowledge to each-and-every member that they may function effectively. Strengthening the employee makes for a stronger individual, a smarter utility, and a more successful Association.

Since we first called on our members to help plan the CSA Annual User Education Conference (AUEC) a few years ago, we have seen both increased year-over-year attendance and increased excitement. Thanks to the sage advice of our AUEC Advisory Board, we have continued to tweak details and add new items to the agenda. All of those suggestions have helped ensure that utility personnel who attend the meeting don’t just sit in meetings all day; they get valuable information that they can use. In short, it makes them better employees.

During the 2017 AUEC we will continue to offer popular educational opportunities like the Member Application Support & Help (M*A*S&H) stations and the expo room for vendors. We are once again providing advanced certification of many of our classes so that those needing Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) can pick up valuable credits. We will also have several classes for professional engineers that will qualify for Professional Development Hours (PDH). This year we will also identify each class as fitting into one of three “tracks” or topics. These tracks are: General Knowledge/Skills, Systems and Software, and Engineering, Operations and Security.

Check in is at 4 PM – check out before 12:00 PM. Cancellations must be made up to five days before scheduled arrival; otherwise, one night’s room and tax will be charged to the credit card on file. Reservation cut-off is MAY 31st or until the group block is sold out - whichever comes first.

Note: CSA is under contract with PBR to book a certain # of rooms.  In order for everyone to take advantage of this special rate our group has to meet the contracted # of rooms.  CSA will not offer other discounted group rates until the contracted # of rooms has been met.
