The California Simulation Alliance (CSA), a program of HealthImpact, is a virtual alliance to benefit all simulation users in the state of California. The purpose of the CSA is to enhance and foster the development of simulation as a modality for transforming the education of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. An overarching framework has been established for the alliance, which includes a governance structure, regional collaboratives and committees.
Providing a home within HealthImpact for:
Best practice identification
Equipment/vendor pricing agreements
Simulation center development
A cohesive voice for healthcare education in California
Inter-organizational research on simulation
Create a common language for simulation
Integration into both schools' and hospitals' curricula is critical to the success of a simulation program. The CSA will share best practice models for successful curriculum integration, hold workshops on this process, and additionally, help hospitals integrate simulation into their patient safety programs to meet the national patient safety goals.
