Dear County Colleagues,
I’d like to extend an invitation to you to join me and CSAC’s other Officers at our 120th Annual Meeting in Anaheim, Orange County, November 18-21. Each year the Annual Meeting provides County Supervisors and senior staff the opportunity to discuss critical issues facing California Counties, to learn from experts in various fields, and to network with our peers in an open and convivial setting.
This year is no different. We have a terrific series of workshops, speakers and meetings lined up for you focused on prevention and intervention, the theme of my year as CSAC President. Research shows that effective prevention and intervention programs are a good return on investment and save taxpayers money in the long run.
At this year’s Annual Meeting, we’ll explore that concept from the county perspective. Counties can save money and improve outcomes through prevention and early intervention and dealing with issues before they become crises. Our topics include youth violence prevention, health care, our aging population, local sustainability, and tribal relations. We’ll also focus on water and transportation issues.
While we have a full agenda, we are also building in time for CSAC’s Annual Innovation Summit, the New Supervisors Institute and other Institute courses, as well as opportunities to network with colleagues from other counties. Please join us in Orange County in November for the CSAC Annual Meeting. I am sure you’ll find it a valuable use of your time that will help you be a more effective leader.
