Research in the field of neuroscience has found that mindfulness practice with children has the potential to grow neural circuitry that will support emotional regulation across the child's life (Zelazo & Lyons, 2012).
This experiential workshop will explore mindfulness-based practices, grounded in neurobiology, for clinicians and educators to support children with emotion regulation issues. You will be engaged in a variety of age-appropriate, creative and playful ways to share mindfulness practice with children, infused with mindfulness principles, such as acceptance, letting go, patience, non-judgment, non-striving and compassion. You will explore the intersection of mindfulness and neuroscience and offer accessible ways to share this exciting and empowering information to children and families.
You will have the opportunity to lead mindfulness practices in groups, thus developing your skills and confidence in bringing mindfulness into your work.
