Cultural Competency

Summary

As you know, every CAC is responsible for a Cultural Competency plan. This one-day training will address the following:

  • What it means to be diverse, inclusive and culturally competent in the non-profit environment;

  • How and why cultural competence is important to participants on an individual level and in their work with the CAC, the MDT, and the community;

  • How personal values, behaviors and communication styles are determined by a mixture of different cultural factors; and

  • How to begin to work and communicate more effectively with people from other cultures.
