Curing the Epilepsies 2020: Setting Research Priorities

NIH Campus Access

You will need a government issued photo ID to provide to security to receive a visitor’s pass and proceed to the NIH Main Campus.

The Gateway Center is where you pass through security. Enter at the blue Welcome sign and proceed to your right through security. All persons and bags will be screened. Lines to obtain your visitor's badge will be on the other side of security. Maps of main campus are available in the Gateway Center.

Directions to Natcher (Building 45) from the Gateway Center

  • Walking — Exit the Gateway Center via stairs or elevator at the 2nd floor and follow the paved walkway to Building 45 known as the Natcher Building. You will be approaching the back of the building, but the doors are open.
  • Shuttle — If you use the NIH Campus Shuttle, you want the stop at Building 45, the Natcher Building. The stop is on a circular drive.
  • Parking - Visitor parking is extremely difficult to find at NIH, so if at all possible, take public transportation. Attendant-controlled parking is available to visitors at their own cost of $2.00 per hour for the first three hours or $12.00 per day at the Gateway Parking Garage (MLP-11).

Taxi and Share Car Services

In order for the taxi/Uber/Lyft to avoid being detained or turned away at security, please arrange to meet your transportation at the Kiss and Ride, located on South Drive, across from the Gateway Center.

  • Turn off of Rockville Pike.
  • Turn onto South Drive.
  • Proceed through the circle on the left side (across from the Kiss and Ride).
  • Drop off in front of NIH Gateway Center.
