By Car

If you are driving to the conference, please note that parking at the University is limited.  Car Parking spaces is pay and display.  Charges are £1 per hour for up to 4 hours or £6 for up to 10 hours.  Parking is free at weekends and from 18.00 each evening through to 08.00 each morning. 

By Air
The nearest major airports are Leeds Bradford Airport (30 miles away) or Manchester Airport (85 miles away). From Leeds Bradford Airport it is easiest to get a taxi transfer, but from Manchester there is a direct train from Manchester Airport to York railway station.  Alternatively London Heathrow or Gatwick Airports which are both London based but very accessible.  If arriving at either you can take the express service into central London.  From Kings Cross St Pancras Station the train to York takes just 2 hours. 

By Rail
There is a frequent, fast train service to York on the main east coast line from London King's Cross to Edinburgh with Virgin Trains East Coast.There is also a direct service across the Pennines between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport with Transpennine Express. The University of York is 2 miles from the railway station and you will need to get a taxi to the building (which will cost around £8.00).  This can take approximately 10-15 minutes.  Otherwise you can take the bus from across the road.

By Bus
The Your Bus 66 connect runs roughly every 10 minutes from the city centre and train station to The University of York campus.  Please also refer to the map highlighting all routes to the University from York City Centre.
