Death, Loss and Grief in Senior Housing (new!)

This event is closed. If you have any questions, please contact the planner directly.

Training Description

Death and loss are inevitable parts of life and aging for both residents and staff.  We all need support in acknowledging and absorbing accumulated losses experienced over the years and to normalize related emotions.  Housing professionals have a unique opportunity to foster support amongst both residents and staff. The practical and emotional aspects of death and grief, it’s impact on residents and staff, and how culture may influence the experience of death and bereavement will be explored.  Through shared experience, participants will examine the journey of death and dying with the objective of providing hope, support and resources to residents.
