Having plans to react, respond and recover from disruptive events is a critical element to both information security and business continuity. Too many organizations view the plan (or testing it) as the objective. Many organizations take a ‘siloed’ approach to risk management. Information security and business continuity are elements of an Operational Risk Management Program that have board-level visibility. This session will explore how security, continuity and other disciplines (like incident & crisis management, vendor/third-party management, technology, etc.) are integrated to reduce risk, meet regulatory requirements and add value to an organization’s mission.
Peter Laz, MBCP, MBCI, is the Senior Managing Consultant at Fusion Risk Management and a member of DRJ's Executive Council. Peter is a senior advisor who helps clients design, implement and manage enterprise-wide risk, resiliency and recovery programs. Peter focuses on guiding executives and business continuity leaders to maximize the value of continuity risk management programs. He brings an experienced perspective to risk management and business continuity focused on customized, viable solutions. Peter has been in the information technology industry since 1983 and in the field of business continuity since 1987.
Join us during this holiday season as we support those in need in our local communities. While many items are needed these are just a few to consider: toiletries, new socks, non-perishable food canned or boxed items, gift cards (Ralphs, CVS, 99 Cent Store), etc. for more items: www.goodshepherdshelter.org/donate
We are also supporting the Children's Trust Fund, a resource development program that is part of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). DCFS works to protect 35,000 neglected and abused children in Los Angeles County, place them in temporary foster care, and reunify families when safe to do so or seek adoption alternatives. Where abuse hurts, Children’s Trust Fund helps. Whether it’s buying a special wheelchair for a child, providing clothes, or giving a guitar to a young girl to help her find some joy from music, Children’s Trust Fund has served the needs of children throughout its 47-year history. Please bring a new, unwrapped gift (e.g., books, DVDs, movie tickets, skateboards, iPhone earbuds, $20 gift cards) to provide to a foster child (ages infant to 21 years old) and make their holidays a little brighter. Tax deductible donations to help provide dental and other services to foster children are also accepted here
For your participation, you will receive an extra raffle ticket for our door prizes.
