Defense Forum Washington 2018

Join the U.S. Naval Institute for a conference to discuss "The Return of Great Power Competition: What are Keys to Maintaining Competitive Advantage?" Senior military, Cabinet leaders, and Congressmen will gather for a half-day event at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

 The Hon. Ellen Lord, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics is invited to give remarks about DoD-wide efforts to procure the technology, systems, and equipment necessary to compete in the high-end fight. 

Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces, ADM Christopher W. Grady, USN, will discuss how the Navy and Marine Corps are maintaining a competitive advantage today while bolstering readiness to compete into the future.

Veronica Daigle, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness will to share insights into steps the DoD is taking to ensure the United States is equipped with the manpower, equipment, and technology to succeed against great power competitors. 

Congressmen Rob Wittman (R-VA)(Invited) and Joe Courtney (D-CT)(Confirmed), members of the House Committee on Armed Service; Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee; and co-chairs, Congressional Shipbuilding Caucus, will to share perspectives from both sides of the aisle on the keys to competing globally.
