Why Attend?

This event will consider what we have learned since the Francis Report into the failings at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust. The report highlighted 'appalling suffering', and whilst not directed at radiographers, we are compelled as healthcare professionals and as human beings to do better.

  • Do we understand what ‘best compassionate care’ looks like?
  • Are there barriers to its delivery?
  • Have we grasped the importance of demonstrating compassion for our colleagues?

Join us for an interactive day to discuss your individual and organisational responsibilities. Together we will assemble resources to foster a culture of values-based recruitment and practice.

Who should attend?

  • All practising diagnostic and therapeutic radiographers
  • Student Radiographers
  • Assistant practitioners
  • Managers
  • Independent providers of radiographic services
  • Anyone working in the NHS

Attendees will have a rare opportunity to question and learn from an expert panel who are leading the way in evidence-based practice within radiography and the wider healthcare arena.

By the end of the conference delegates will:

  • Understand what compassion is and how it influences the delivery of care
  • Gain an insight into existing preconceptions, and barriers to the provision of best compassionate care
  • Develop tools to help challenge unacceptable behaviours
  • Discover what patient-centred care looks like at its best, and be inspired to re-evaluate your own organisation's gold standard
