Who Should Attend? Dental hygienists wishing to update their skills and knowledge.  (Course may be required for hygienists seeking license reinstatement in Ohio.)

8:00 - 9:00           Laws and Rules, Jurisprudence, Continuing Education

9:00 - 10:45         Risk Assessment, Periodontal classification >> Case Review, Treatment planning & Insurance coding

10:45 - 11:30      Dental Implants, nitrous oxide & local anesthesia refresh

11:30 - 12:30      Lunch Break (on your own)

12:30 - 1:00         Electronic Health Records, HIPAA

1:30 - 2:00           Digital radiography

2:00 - 3:30           Review instruments, ultrasonics, intraoral camera and air polishing on typodont

3:30 - 4:00           Dental Materials: sealants, fluorides

 

 

Learning Objectives:

1) Review health history information and assessment data to complete a risk assessment.

2) Demonstrate activation of instruments used in periodontal therapy.

3) Review digital radiographic techniques and interpretation.

4) Discuss current techniques and products for treating periodontal disease.

5) Discuss current in-office and home fluoride products.

6) Demonstrate the use of an intra-oral camera.

7) Discuss insurance codes used for dental hygiene procedures.

8) Review an electronic health record system.

9) Review current dental materials used in dentistry.

10) Review the laws and rules to practice dental hygiene in the state of Ohio.
