Clutches, bracelets, and headbands are just a few of the fashionable accessories available at high cost at many retail stores today. But why buy when you can make them yourself? You can learn basic hand- and machine-sewing skills, along with some basic crafting techniques like soldering and metal manipulation, to make your own accessories just in time for a special event or the holidays!
As you progress through this three-session course designed for beginners, each week you will focus on one aspect of accessory design while working in a small group and side-by-side an enthusiastic instructor. The inspiring environment of an Art Institutes school will boost your creative side!
All materials required for the course will be provided and are included in the fee. However, if you have your own preferred fabric, thread, beads, or tools, feel free to bring them. This may be especially useful if you are trying to match a special outfit, or coordinate colors for a special event or seasonal activity.
Some basic sewing and crafting skills are helpful, but not required to participate in or enjoy this course. Your instructor will adjust to your abilities, so don’t worry about that glue gun disaster—come out and have some fun!
This course is suitable for ages 14+. In addition to tuition, this course will require the payment of a $15.00 course materials fee at the time of registration.
