Developing a Farm Food Safety Plan is designed to assist growers who are writing a USDA Harmonized GAP Food Safety Plan or are preparing for some other farm food safety audit requiring a written plan.

Come prepared to write a food safety plan for your farm! Bring a laptop or pen and paper, and be prepared to think about how your produce farm operates.

What to Expect

Prior to attending this course, it is helpful (but not necessary) to have attended the Food Safety Modernization Act - Produce Grower Certification Training, or another introductory Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) course that covers farm practices and food safety risks.

This workshop will review basic concepts, but is designed as a level-two course for farmers writing a food safety plan. It is also designed for farmers who are considering, or are required, to have a third-party audit.

Participation in this workshop will leave you better prepared for third-party audits. Previous participants have finished the workshop with a started, if not mostly-completed, farm food safety plan in hand.
