Differentiation is an instructional process in which teachers proactively modify curriculum, instruction, learning activities, and student products to maximize each student’s growth and individual success by meeting their learning needs.
This workshop will introduce the concept and principles of Differentiated Instruction (DI). DI addresses the need for knowing the readiness, interests, and learning styles of today’s students, developing an environment which allows for differences, and helping students “make sense” of instruction within the classroom. Participants will use tools to diagnose learning profiles, explore strategies for addressing student differences through various instructional strategies and participate in hands-on activities.
