Digital forensic first responder training is critical, especially since first responders to an incident often
contaminate the evidence unknowingly. Digital evidence is inherently fragile and can be erased or changed
without a trace. The efforts of the first responder are essential to ensure the evidence is gathered and
preserved in a forensically sound manner. The "Digital Forensics First Responder" (DFFR) course covers the
conceptual and pragmatic skills of the first responder for a digital forensic investigation.
This course is intended to assist digital forensic first responders who may be responsible for preserving digital
evidence from an incident and for recognizing, collecting, and safeguarding that digital evidence.
All IT professionals with any security-related duties should be versed with rules of engaging in a digital forensic
examination and would therefore require digital forensic first responder training.
