Dining with Diabetes is a program for adults with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes and their families that will increase knowledge of healthy food choices and diabetes management. The classes offer healthy meal planning, food demonstrations, class discussions, and new physical activity choices.

Trained Extension Educators, in consultation with registered dietitians and diabetes educators, will lead discussions addressing:
Classes are offered for four or five sessions, with a follow-up class. Each class offers food demonstrations and tasting, physical activity and ideas to take home, and discussions regarding important information to help you manage your diabetes. Lab tests will be offered to measure HbA1c. In addition to class handouts and test results, participants also receive the following resources: exercise DVD, Joslin Diabetes Center educational materials, complete collection of Dining with Diabetes recipes, and Plate Method placemat.

If you have been told that you have Type 2 diabetes, you will want to attend this class!
