Are your students bored? Do you find yourself bored in your own classroom? Do you feel like a tour guide who has been to the same place too many times? This session will explore some insights from Constanza Pacher’s classroom, a recent Distinguished Teaching Award winner. More student choice, open-ended projects, raising the bar, and welcoming different approaches for the same project can help to engage students better and bring an element of surprise to the classroom — and make you feel like you, too, are seeing a new place every time. Reflections, tips, insights, and student examples of visual communication design projects will be shared.
