LUNCHEON: From Talk to Action: Diversity and Inclusion in the Social Sector Now

We live in troubling times. Recent events on the local and national stage call out the need to build bridges between communities and authentically engage in the work of diversity and inclusion. Listen to the lives and experiences of four local thought leaders as they share their own journey and recommendations to help us move from talk to action.

A panel discussion and conversation moderated by Michele Lew, CEO of the Health Trust aimed at nonprofit staff, volunteers, donors, grantmakers, corporate social responsibility leaders, and anyone who supports diversity in the social sector.

Panelists:
Gabrielle Antolovich is the Board President for the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center.

Ron Gonzales, President & CEO, Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and former Santa Clara County Supervisor & San Jose Mayor.

Rev. Jethroe (Jeff) Moore II, President, San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP.

MORNING WORKSHOP (optional add-on):  CFRE Prep

Do you know about the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential? Have you considered pursuing it yourself? Perhaps you feel you are ready, but you are not sure where to start or you are worried about the exam? Learn more about the application requirements, how to navigate the process, and the benefits of obtaining certification from three CFREs at a special workshop before the chapter’s September luncheon. You’ll get an overview of certification, plus Q&A and advice on being successful.

AFP SV President Josh Selo, AFP SV VP-Elect Development Sonia Wright, and AFP SV Past VP Education Linda Lyon, will share and answer questions about the process and steps to obtain your CFRE. After a brief introduction about CFRE, this will be an interactive question and answer session
.
