In celebration of twenty-five years of New England Drug Courts as well as twenty years of our organization the President and Board of Directors are pleased to announce we are now The New England Association of Recovery Court Professionals(NEARCP) This new name better reflects our comprehensive approach for high risk participants in an era of expanding treatment courts including, but not limited to, Veteran, Family, Juvenile, Re-Entry, Mental Health, DUI, Federal and Tribal courts.

NEARCP’s enhanced mission is not only treatment but also “recovery” in all of its varied definitions. "Recovery” does not refer only to substance use disorders; it also means "Recovery” from a lifestyle conflicted by other conditions such as PTSD. Our organization will, despite its name change, continue to focus on the best practices of the treatment court model.


About the New England Association of Recovery Court Professionals

The New England Association of Recovery Court Professionals is a nonprofit consortium of drug treatment court professionals from six states (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine). Our purpose is to:

• Address critical current and emerging issues confronting drug treatment courts through high-quality training and technical assistance.
• Promote regional coordination and partnerships to address challenges common in New England drug treatment courts and develop responsive pro-active policies and practices.
• Provide a central forum and repository of resources relevant to the development, operation, and administration of drug treatment courts.

Conference Goal:

Bring together justice professionals, treatment/recovery specialists, and community partners to identify principles and practical solutions that will strengthen the region’s response to addiction and facilitate the expansion of recovery and treatment courts over the next 25 years.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

• Receive an update on current status of treatment and recovery courts including veterans courts and come away with in depth understanding of them , understand how Covid-19 has affected their ability to serve clients and learn about effective past, present , future responses
• Discuss current effective drug court cognitive models and be familiar with responses to integrative care
• Learn about the fundamentals of drug court and Veteran courts operations as well as responses in the face of fundamental changes during this pandemic and into the future
• Identify the basis of recovery management as an enhancement to other treatment modalities
• Understand how to improve case outcomes using Evidence Based Practice and case management tools in introductory and advanced drug court and Veterans Court operations
• Promote peer and expert exchanges to provide support to treatment and recovery courts
