Early Childhood and Pediatric Therapy Symposium

Working with young children with developing brains and bodies is both rewarding and challenging. The courses provided at the Early Childhood and Pediatric Therapy Symposium focus on evidence-based strategies for assessing and treating young children with special needs across all five developmental domains. The apraxia course outlines the differences between CAS and other speech sound disorders, discusses when a formal diagnosis of CAS can be made, and focuses on goal-writing and treatment strategies for minimally verbal young children with suspected CAS. The early intervention course examines best practice guidelines for providers working with families and children in the natural environment. The sensory course provides an overview of how sensory-motor issues can affect the development of speech, language and social skills. Effective strategies will be provided to help young learners interact more effectively with their environment. This conference is designed for providers working with the birth to 5 population.
