Constellation, the endorsed energy supplier to the New Jersey Bankers Association's Energy Program, will supply Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) from wind energy facilities in the United States to match 100 percent of the electricity used at the New Jersey Economic Leadership Forum. This donation of RECs, and others like it, help support the demand for new, clean wind power. The RECs donated for the event will result in approximately 23,109 pounds of avoided carbon dioxide emissions due to the displacement of grid electricity generation by renewable energy. This is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions from 24 barrels of oil consumed or 1,174 gallons of gasoline consumed.
