eCYBERMISSION, a web-based STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) competition that is free to students, sponsored by the U.S. Army and administered by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), challenges students in grades 6 through 9 to identify a real-life problem in their community, then propose a solution by using scientific practices or engineering design processes. eCYBERMISSION teams consist of three to four students in the same grade and state that compete for State, Regional, and National Awards up to $9,000 in savings bonds. The program aims to reinforce what students learn in their math and science courses by applying best practices to real-world problems and encouraging them to engage with Army scientists and engineers in developing innovative solutions.
