Come and Explore the New Manufacturing at Catalyst Connection’s Additive Manufacturing (AM) Conference. This second annual conference brings together regional manufacturers, subject matter experts and service providers to share information and lessons learned on how AM technology is being used in product design and manufacturing. Over the years, manufacturers have successfully implemented AM processes for prototypes, repairs, molds, tooling and fixtures. Today, innovative manufacturers are using AM for end-use parts production. Last year’s attendees included General Electric, NASA, Alcoa, ExOne, University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and dozens of regional manufacturing companies.
This year we will also be inviting educators to join us in learning about this transformative technology, the impact for local manufacturing, regional resource partners, connections to careers, and best practices of how educators are connecting with industry. Maker spaces are being implemented in schools and after school programs throughout our region which are a natural connection to careers in manufacturing. Come learn how your maker space and 3D printers can prepare students to fill one of 20,000 open manufacturing career opportunities projected over the next 10 years in southwestern Pennsylvania.
