The Learning Enhancement Center at The University of Southern Mississippi is hosting the third annual Educators Connect (formerly LEC Connects) conference. The conference will feature resources to connect faculty to innovative teaching strategies by allowing faculty members to experience, communicate and collaborate with others while exploring effective teaching and learning strategies. This one-day conference will include a continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks. It is also free of charge to all those who participate.
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Saundra McGuire will deliver the opening keynote session and facilitate a break-out session. Dr. McGuire is the Director Emerita of the Center for Academic Success and Retired Assistant Vice Chancellor and Professor of Chemistry at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. McGuire has been teaching chemistry and working in the area of learning and teaching support for over 40 years.
We are also pleased to announce our luncheon keynote speaker, Dr. Michael Wesch. Dr. Wesch is a cultural anthropologist exploring the effects of new media on society and culture. His videos on culture, technology, education, and information have been viewed over 20 million times, translated in over 20 languages, and are frequently featured at international film festivals and major academic conferences worldwide.
