Students sometimes complain that they hate group work. As educators, however, we are aware of its value: collaborative learning has been identified as a high-impact educational practice, and it can allow for more flexibility and depth of learning in assignments and projects. But students often can’t see its value when they are working in groups that may not be functioning optimally. In this session, we’ll discuss a few fun options for group activities and best practices for setting up effective student collaboration.
