Electrical Safety in Construction Workshop
Sponsored and Led by the
National Academy of Construction (NAC) and
IEEE’s Electrical Safety Workshop (ESW)

On the afternoon of October 25th, one day before the NAC Annual Conference, the NAC Strategic Planning and Safety Committees are co-sponsoring a one day Electrical Safety in Construction Workshop in partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Electrical Safety Workshop (ESW). This workshop will address one of the most serious Construction Industry issues – a high percentage of electrically related deaths and injuries.

Over the past 20 years, over 50% of our industry’s fatalities have been electricity related. All of these injuries and deaths are 100% preventable. Electrical injuries are very unforgiving, and the high fatality rates ruin families for a generation. These injuries cost owners and contractors millions in lost productivity and legal costs.

The first afternoon will feature leaders who are experts in new electrical safety techniques and technologies. There will be opportunities to question them extensively. The following morning will address how society’s megatrends can affect our abilities to address these issues.
