Welcome to Oxford!

We look forward to hosting an exciting and stimulating meeting which brings together the best of the CD1/MR1 scientific field in our home town.  We have aimed to ensure an increased presence of junior presenters and a balanced gender distribution, providing as many opportunities as possible for attendees to interact together, share knowledge and build collaborations.  The venue of the meeting is the recently built Mathematical Institute close to the historic centre of Oxford, with social events organised at Keble College and at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History amongst others.  We will be honoured to have a private gig by the “IMMposters” a famous, highly talented, and very cool band, which will surely be the stuff of legends (one of us declares a slight conflict).

If you get a spare moment, you may like to take a look around the Ashmolean, Bodleian or Pitt Rivers Museum.  Or perhaps enjoy the colleges, University Parks, a walk along the river, or a punting expedition to the pub.  Keep an eye out for a White Rabbit running late or a Mad Hatter, and if you do spot them, you will soon be smiling like the Cheshire Cat.  It is always handy to keep a few spells ready in case of emergencies – Expelliarmus is particularly useful.

We are very grateful to our scientific advisory committee, our local organising committee and helpers and for the support from EMBO. We are also very grateful to our sponsors for making this international CD1-MR1 meeting possible.  We hope you enjoy the meeting and may be inspired by the outstanding science which will be presented and discussed.
