Presented by Manesh Rath of Keller and Heckman LLP and Ellen Rice, Assistant General Counsel, EMC.There have been a number of significant court decisions in the past year that impact employers in the field of wage and hour law. Our panel will briefly cover some of those recent decisions. Then we will lead an interactive workshop covering some of the more challenging FLSA classification determinations that employers are often confronted with. Participants are welcome to submit, in advance, any job classifications that they believe will form a suitable part of this workshop by e-mailing Robin Hayutin at firstname.lastname@example.org. The program will cover: key questions that employers should ask when making FLSA classification decisions; evidence that employers can gather and preserve in support of their FLSA classifications; and key sources for assistance in making classification determinations. This session will be in workshop format, so participants will be able to interact with their peers to learn about methods that others are using to tackle some of the most difficult classification questions that employers are facing.
