Engaging Students' Attention in the Classroom
How can we keep students engaged throughout long classes? It’s a challenge instructors increasingly have to face as attention spans become more fragmented. Ninety-minute lectures and power point presentations during which students tune out and look at their screens or smartphones are disheartening for teachers, but what do they indicate about student learning? Participants in this session will discover and explore innovative uses of class-time to motivate students' learning and increase their level of engagement.
