Ensuring Equitable Educational Opportunity for Each Student: The Equity Literacy Approach



One of our most basic responsibilities as educators is to ensure equitable educational access and opportunity for each student, regardless of economic status, gender, race, or any other identity. We can prepare to do this effectively by strengthening our “equity literacy”: our literacy related to equity. In this workshop we will engaging in conversations and exercises meant to do just that. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how equity and inequity operate in schools, even in the subtlest ways, as well as strategies for bolstering equity efforts in classrooms, schools, and school districts.

Audience: Administrators, Teachers, and School Leadership teams are highly encouraged to attend together
