ESG - Much More Than The Environment - What A Director Should Know

“ESG” brings to mind environmental issues like climate change and resource scarcity. These are an element of ESG - important ones - but ESG means much more. It covers social issues like a company’s labor practices, talent management, product safety and data security. It covers governance matters like board diversity, executive pay and business ethics. There is a divide among stakeholders on how to manage and communicate it and what the term even means.

So what is ESG? Why does it matter and what role should you play as a Director? Some Directors think of it as window dressing. But when it comes down to it, ESG is about risk - and it’s about opportunity.

Our June 25 program will break all of this down, explain the continued divide between corporates and investors, and lay out several questions Directors should ask to understand where your company stands.
